I asked Alejandro to translate his message into English himself, and he was kind enough to transmit the following which elaborates a bit on his original. The fact that his grandparents are from Romania, suggests that we might, indeed, have common forebears.

Hello my name is Alejandro Birman from Chile in South America. my father is Jean Pierre Birman , my grand father is Bernardo Birman, We live in Santiago, the capital of Chile, but my grand father is from Rumania. They immigrated first to Israel and then to Chile during the second world war. My English is not very good, I espeak Espanish. Agradeciendo su ayuda muchas gracias.
