My name is Jorge Ricardo Birman.
I live in Săo Paulo, Brazil.
I was born in Argentina. My grand father, Haim Usher Birman, was born near Kiev, Ukraine, and came to Argentina near 1915.
My father, Salomon, lives in Buenos Aires.
I am married with Silvia Dzik. I have two daughters, one son and a grandaughter, Julia Levin, who is one and a half years old.
I would like to know more about the Birman name and families around the world.

Considering the common geographic origins in the Ukraine and the relative rarity of the spelling of our common surname, I will guess that our two families are probably related in some way.
I assume that you got my name and e-mail address from my website in which I have been posting correspondence from Birmans around the world. (How did you find it?) Collectively I think we are adding to the body of information about the migration of our ancestors out of the Ukraine in the latter part of the 19th century and the early 20th century.
