Max Khytsus writes in January 2009: Paul, I haven't communicated with you in almost 10 years now, but I've been checking your website on an irregular basis,
hoping to get a hit to my query.
I just reread some of the older posts and came across the one from Jorge Ricardo Birman. He makes mention of Haim Birman and "near Kiev".
This matches a piece of my family history. And 1915 just happens to be a very realistic year.
Do you have contact information for Jorge? I'd like to touch base with him and see if we can compare some facts.

I wish I could help you, but I searched my e-mail messages from 2005 and cannot find the original message (with e-mail address)
from Jorge Ricardo Birman. Sorry. What I can do is post your message on the page in the hope that he will check in (as you do) and see it.
Paul
Paul,
Yes, please. Just add a note that I want to talk to him about a potential overlap in our family trees.
Please list my address as birman.kiev@gmail.com. Thank you.

e-mail from Maxwell Birman Greene <matheamax@gmail.com> July 2 2010 Hello, my name is Max Greene. My mother was born in Argentina and her surname is Birman. Her father, Mario Birman's family comes from the Ukraine, they are Jewish. My great grandfather is Leon Birman. I only have a picture of my grandfather, Mario Birman. I do not have much information. Could we possibly be related?
On May 5 2011, Max Greene writes again: "I just discovered that my branch of the Birman family came from Podolia (probably Ozarinty, Ukraine) but most lived in Kishinev. Around 1910, as a result of the Kishinev Pogrom (from what I've heard) they immigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina. My earliest known Birman ancestors are Leon Birman (born as Avrohom Eliezer) and Berl "Bernardo" Birman. Any other info you have on the Birmans would be appreciated.
-- Max GreeneWe'd love to hear from you. Send us e-mail
(*) My branch of the Birman family is Jewish, originating in Bukovina, a region that has alternated between Russia, the Ukraine and Romania. For more family information, try the Jewish Geneology Page
