I received the email above and suggested that the sender contact you. (The answer is that Sarah's name is just a coincidence, in fact, although as it turns out she is also named for her great-great-grandmother according to your web page).
Also, just a curiosity: there actually is a second Birman in Ithaca, which is odd because the spelling is pretty rare. This would be George and Irina Birman. George is a dentist who was born in the Ukraine and he and I once speculated that there could actually be a link on that side. He probably has an email address, but all I know is the phone number: 607-844-8852 at work, and 607-257-7179 at home. The next step is clearly to do DNA sequencing to see which of the many subtrees you have on the overall page might actually be linked..
