On July 9-12. Greenport, NY hosted a large congregation of Tall Ships including the Cisne Branco, a Brazilian Navy ship, The Capitan Miranda from Uruguay, The Blue Nose II from Nova Scotia, the Pogoria of Poland (which previously visited Greenport in 2000), its sister ship Iskra.  Also in port was Tenacious, from Britain and Grand Nellie an American ship.

The ships were in town because the original host city, Boston, is preoccupied with preparations for the Democratic National Convention.
