The shul's Family Scrabble Festival, held Sunday, Jan. 15, attracted 50 players from the North Fork, Nassau County, and as far as Norwood, MA. Prizewinners for top scores were Lucille Purcell of Riverhead with 412 points at a two-player table, James Payne of Norwood with 238 points at a three-player table, and Ruth Eilenberg of Southold with 205 points at a four-player table. Top single turn scores went to Emily Halligan, 84 points for "quoted"; Richard Cirincicione, 84 points for "doilies"; and Jesse Elliot, 75 points for "tempered."
