The Journal Dinner-Dance: A Celebration
of Our Shul, Our Honorees, and Our Efforts

Let's celebrate together on Sunday evening, Sept. 12, at the Sound View Restaurant. What a celebration it will be. Our shul will celebrate its 109th birthday; our honorees will be celebrated for their many contributions to our shul and the North Fork community; and our efforts to make it the best ever Journal Dinner-Dance are worthy of celebration. It promises to be a rousing good time with wonderful food and drink, music, dancing, prizes and good company.

This year, our synagogue honorees are Charlie and Marsha Millman, who are involved in virtually every facet of synagogue life -- from the spiritual to the social. We are much indebted to this couple, Mr. Men's Club and Mrs. Daughters of Israel, for guiding our synagogue forward.

Our Citizen of the Year is Robert Syron, president and CEO of Peconic Landing, one of the nation's preeminent life care retirement communities. Bob also volunteers locally for the benefit of youth programs and renewable energy alternatives.

We're counting on you
Now, about those efforts we mentioned, that's where you come in. The Journal Dinner- Dance is so named because of the beautiful journal that is produced. To that end, ad insertion forms have been distributed with lists of advertisers. All that remains is your effort to fill up the journal with as many ads and messages of congratulations -- and don't forget your own message -- as possible. The bigger the journal, the more our shul can do to program the community events that we all enjoy and to maintain our beautiful historic building.

Let's work to make this Journal Dinner-Dance a memorable event, and celebrate our success together on Sept. 12.
