Tax Deductible Contributions
You might want to consider making a tax-deductible contribution before the end of the year. Please keep in mind that the Shul has established several dedicated funds with separate purposes so that the dollars you choose to contribute will further Shul functions of particular interest to you. As always, we are grateful for your generosity.
Capital Improvement...Major building additions and/or repairs to the building and grounds. For example, roofing, painting, re-siding, central air conditioning etc.. It does not include repairs such as plumbing leaks, electrical problems, or day-to-day situations that might crop up.
Archive -Library...Expanding the Library, materials for archiving Shul records such as acid free paper and storage boxes.
Education...Supplies and materials for the Hebrew School as well as for the Adult Education classes.
Rabbi's Discretionary Fund...Funds set aside for the Rabbi to disperse as contributions and aid to the needy in our community.
Ritual Materials Fund... Replacement of Prayer Books, Tallit, Kippah, Torah Mantle, Rimmonim, Breast Plates, Curtains, Reader's Table Cover, etc.
Financial Assistance Fund … To assist persons in the community in financial distress. Administered by two congregants.

Fund Raising
Congregation Tifereth Israel is our family and as is customary with most families we have a home. The Shul's home is housed at 519 Fourth Street. Those of us who own a house, or have owned one in the past, understand that it takes lots of money to maintain. While membership dues have remained the same for several years, inflation has played havoc with our treasury.
How do we keep up? While our fund raisers have been doing well we still have a shortfall. Your donations are the answer! Consider purchasing one of the many plaques we have available, or contribute to any of the above listed categories. Please do something. Many of us think about our Jewish heritage and what it means to be a Jew and to have a place like Tifereth Israel in which to pray and meditate. Together, we need to look to the future and consider that we are the stewards of our beloved synagogue and that we must leave a legacy for our children, our grandchildren and for generations to come....
